Company History
Our history began back in 2021 at COP26 in Glasgow, when members of the team at Terra Motion Limited were invited to present on how their unique satellite monitoring solution could help incentivise investment in peatland restoration. At that meeting, we learned about the huge opportunity that peatland restoration offers for fighting climate change and specifically how private investment is crucial in filling the funding gap that currently prevents restoration at scale, particularly in an era of:

By working with academics and stakeholders alike, we have designed an effective, robust and agile solution to the monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) of carbon loss over peatlands. Furthermore, we have learned that an MRV that embraces digital technologies such as smart sensors and earth observation satellites can streamline the whole process, improving the functioning, scaling-up and transparency of the carbon markets.
Our Mission
Our mission is to incentivise real action to solve the climate emergency by ensuring that peatland restoration becomes the most financially secure and profitable long-term nature-based solution available for private investment.
